The Process

About the casting process

At the casting appointment, (at your home or in my studio based in Flackwell heath, High Wycombe) I will make a mould of your babys' hand/foot. I start by gently massaging the hand or foot with olive oil. This is to relax the baby, remove any fluff caught between the fingers or toes, and to help the baby slide out from the mould once it's set. The hand or foot is gently dipped into a yoghurt like mixture. It is a very quick process, taking just a minute to set. Your babys' foot or hand can then gently slide out and you can leave the rest of the hard work to me!

I have a selection of beautiful frames, cast colours, mount colours and name options.  The choice is yours! We can have a look at all the samples and put together your favourite options.

All of the frames are suitable for shelf or wall hanging.
